Recorded this in Eris Drew's studio in the cabin in New Hampshire she shares with her two partners, Maya and Q. They laid on the floor and listened as I played. I wanted a good mix of electronic deep listening, environmental sounds (field recordings) and non electronic deep listening. Because I was in NH, I had limited access to records and being that Eris only has turntables, no access to digital files, so it is true pastiche of whatever I could find as I packed for my trip east. I included some classic artists like Ariel Kalma, Pauline Oliveros and of course, Arthur Russell, alongside some more contemporary artists who really get me deep in my own brain while listening, such as Ahnnu and Gael Segalen.
The transitions may be a bit rougher than I wanted but it's less about being a DJ mix and more about showing the different soundscapes in which we can lose ourselves in listening, if we let ourselves.
